Where did you grow up/reside/live before the mission field?
I grew up in Parkersburg, WV and lived there all my life.

How did you hear about Extreme?
Actually, I was the secretary and NMI president at my church before I came to Peru. One day, as I was going through the mail at the church, the new Compassionate Ministries Magazine was there. There was an ad inside about adopting a village in the Amazon of Brazil, and so, as the NMI President, I was interested to see what that was all about. I thought maybe our church could do it for a mission project. I went to the website, saw the opportunity to be a 40/40, and sent in the paperwork but, I was told that it was only for guys. So, I thought maybe I wasn’t supposed to do that but, I really felt I was. So, I waited a year, and the place changed to Peru, and it opened up to gals too.

Tell us about your first encounter with the mission field.  Extreme or other?
My first encounter with foreign missions was when I was in college at MVNU. I went to Belize for a J-term trip and absolutely fell in love with the country and the people. I have returned to Belize 8 or 9 times for different reasons…sometimes to visit, sometimes for mission trips…but I can’t remember exactly how many times.

Tell us about your favorite experience related to Extreme.
My favorite experience related to Extreme…well, that is hard…I have loved so many things. I think the most rewarding time so far, was when we had the clinics here in Iquitos and, I got to play with the children and paint faces.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?  Where?  Doing what?
I have no idea where…but I am pretty sure it will be doing some sort of mission work.

Please pray for Katie as she continues her ministry calling here in Peru!
