Love Extreme 2 - June 21-25, 2010 in Pucallpa

We've gone into three different communities, picking up garbage, cleaning streets, handing out fliers the Jesus Film, and clearing weeds and jungle grass with machetes in the mornings, then in the afternoons we've had kids festivals, where we offer facepainting, dental and medical clinics, manicures and pedicures for the adults, hair washes cuts, and games. Out of all the days so far, today has had the best turn out for the kids festival, with tons of kids flooding each station. For the dental station we had to do 30 kids in about 3 groups in an attempt to provide for the crowds quickly, and we even had to quit because we could not provide the supplies for all the kids there and have some left for the other kids fests.

At night, the viewings of the Jesus film have been full of technical difficulties. Yet, they have had a great response. Many people have caught the message and have given us their names, addresses, and phone numbers, which has given the 40/40's many good contacts in their targeted areas. We can tell that the enemy is fighting us during the films, from braking one of the generators to problems with the disks. He has even tried to distract two of the people who were really moved by the movie by sending one of their friends there right after the movie to talk about something completely off topic. But God is greater, and has brought success in spite of these attacks.

From the start, we have seen our impact on the Peruvians. On the first day when we were clearing out trash on a dirt field, the lady with us was chiding the people who were passing by, saying things like "look at this, these Americans have come to clean this up, when we cant even clean it by ourselves" and "learn from these people!" Another time a Peruvian lady as she received a flier started talking a lot in Spanish to my mom. After learning mom can't speak Spanish, she said "Grasias" and pointed to the group cleaning the street. Though we haven't had thousands of people saved like at the big event, we have seen a local impact from everything that we have done.
Please be praying for our group, because about a third of them have digestive problems, and many of them had to stay at the hotel today. But pray not only for us, but for the small child we met today who swollowed a coin a few days ago, and will have to have surgury soon before it causes any more damage.
