With a population of over 2.7 million people, Cali is the third largest city in Colombia. It was founded by a Spanish conquistador in 1536 who came to Colombia in search of the legendary "Lost City of Gold," El Dorado. Although Cali is not the Lost City of Gold, it does have many many "lost" souls. The Nazarene church here is doing everything it can to change that. The Cali House of Prayer is the largest Nazarene church in the world, having around 12,000 attendees. This is the reason Extreme uses its example as part of the training for our church-planting teams. The teams experience the beautiful Latin culture in this 500 year old city bordered by beautiful mountains on one side and the Cauca River on another, while learning how the Cali church has become so effective in reaching their city for Christ.
Cali is a service city for Extreme that focuses exclusively on training 40/40 church-planters. All Extreme staff goes to Cali prior to starting their church-planting work with the expressed purpose of watching the 'Master's Plan' church growth strategy in action.
