Born and raised in Sioux City, IA, David is a Nazarene pastor's son, musician, & missionary. Previously known for his career and ministry playing drums in the #1 charting Christian rock band, “For Today”, David traveled around the world for eight years to five continents preaching the Gospel, praying for the sick, and bringing the light of God into very dark places. In 2012, the Lord spoke audibly to David to leave the band and serve as a 40/40 Missionary Church Planter with Extreme Nazarene Missions in South America. David said yes to the call and served in Ambato, Ecuador, from 2012 - 2015 where he and his team planted a thriving, new, Nazarene church. They saw many miracles through prayer and hundreds of people come to the Lord. The church plant is now averaging 100+ in regular attendance and continues to thrive.
David has a strong passion to preach the word of God with boldness, encourage God’s church to rise up, pray for the sick, see the miraculous power of God, help the least of these, and to reach the lost. He has had a strong anointing for healing and miracles since 2009, having seen cancer healed, bones grow back, and the miraculous manifest itself on a regular basis.
David, when finishing his missions term in Ecuador, asked God if he could go serve in Cambodia and the resounding response was a surprising, "No." Before he knew it, Extreme Nazarene came knocking again and God told David, "I want you to go and work with Extreme in Boise." David then accepted the position as the Mobilization Manager for the Extreme's Boise office and began in July, 2015. David spent 2015 and 2016 traveling around the States speaking at churches, camps, retreats, and conferences about what God has done and is doing on the mission field while seeking those who are called to GO! David is now the Mobilization Officer with Extreme Nazarene Missions, overseeing all Mobilization efforts globally with a goal to help bring the organization to its ambitious goal of planting 12 new churches a year by 2020.
While on the field with Extreme in Ecuador, David served alongside someone who, at the time, had no idea she would later become the love of his life. Her name is Nikol Calderon and they were engaged to be married on December 29th, 2015, and are marrying on September 3rd, 2016.
They will be continuing in the ministry of Mobilization together with Extreme, basing out of Boise, Idaho, USA indefinitely.
Note from David:
"If I could share one thing with every Christian, I would say this:
Listen to God and just say Yes to Jesus! Always say Yes and your life may not look like what you thought, but it will certainly be perfect!
Isaiah 55:11 "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
Thank you for your prayers & financial investment in Nikol and I.
